And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves. People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:25-28 TPT
Standing calm in the middle of the storm, with our mighty and gracious God, we will find encouragement that in spite of the attacks of the devil all around us, we can have peace—not ordinary peace, but the supernatural peace that only Jesus can deliver!
My friends, wherever we are in the world, we are all faced with storms, physical and spiritual, that threaten to overwhelm our faith. And just as in the eye of the hurricane there is calm, Jesus wants to give each of us that calm and peace as we daily walk through those storms in our lives.
He doesn’t give us freedom from the storms, but He teaches us in Isaiah 43:1-2 not to be afraid, for He will protect us. He calls us by name, we are His, and when we pass through the waters, He is with us, when we walk through the fire, we will not be burned. That is amazing grace!
When we end up losing our job and we don’t know where to turn or what to do for a certain amount of time, the only thing we can do is to trust God and His plan for our lives. Satan has easy ways of making us believe that if we lose our job we’re going to lose everything. That isn’t true. It only teaches us how to trust God even more, even when it feels like trusting Him is utterly impossible.
In the eye of all storms we face in life, He is always in control. In the middle of every day warfare within ourselves and with Satan telling us lies, God guards our souls. He alone is the anchor that we can cling to when our sails are torn. His love is always surrounding us we can always look to Him, even when we can’t see through a storm. Take comfort in knowing that He has a way out of every situation. There is nothing He won’t get you through. In His time and within His will.
