Called To Become

I give you a new commandment – to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are My disciples – if you have love for one another.  John 13:34-35 NET

Believing the Good News is just the beginning. We must also BE the Good News. That is part of the commission God has placed on His people. 

Matthew 5:14-16 NET You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.  

We are called to become Good News. 

And that takes work. 

The Gospel is the announcement that God has become King, Heaven is coming to Earth, and everyone is invited to be a part of God’s Kingdom. Through our Saviour, Jesus, we’ve been offered forgiveness of our sins and we’ve been invited to play a part restoring creation.... and the process requires us to enter Jesus’ story by reading the Bible accounts of His life, death, and resurrection. 

Our world desperately needs Him. More so now than ever. And unfortunately, more so now than ever, people are skeptical of and hostile toward anything to do with God. People aren’t just questioning whether or not Christianity is true; they’re questioning if it’s even good. 

My friends, we have an opportunity to show the world that the Gospel of Jesus has always been and will always be the goodness of God.
