Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. James 1:19 NET
Like we mention often at Gospel Garage, when the going gets tough, open up the Bible. Reading the Word will help to remind us of God’s path laid out ahead. Reading life will lead to speaking it because it is important to speak it out for others to hear, to bear witness. Yes Lord! Wow! He calls us with words that speak life into our dry bones! Amazing grace! Thats why it is important for our words to be words of Faith...words of Life!
This is a challenging goal, but it is also a glorious gift. Jesus Christ, the Shepherd of our soul, is always accessible to us. He gives us the sentences to speak. The chorus’ to sing. The prayers to pray.
Ask Holy Spirit for discernment, He can train our minds to turn from the negative experiences that bog us down, (like watching a news cast or reading a headline) and focus on Him. And then When we experience moments of learning, wisdom, seeing something beautiful, thank God for it!
Thank Him for His unlimited compassion even while we fail. He is grace! He isn’t like us. Even the most intense of human love is but the faintest echo of heaven’s cascading abundance. His heartful thoughts for each and every one of us outstrip what we can conceive. He intends to restore us into the radiant resplendence for which we were created. He spoke us into life!
Seek and invite Holy Spirit to dwell within you. To give life, breath, wisdom, courage. He speaks to each of us where we are at that given moment w call to Him. He declares life over us and therefore, with all authority poured into us by Jesus Christ, we are to speak life over our broken pieces.
Actually, would you declare the following with us:
With Jesus Christ as my Saviour
I will weather through the storm.
Holy Spirit’s fire within me will burn brighter
than the fire burning around me
I speak God’s life because I am anointed.
I am empowered.
I am equipped.
I am called.
I am loved.
because I have been blessed beyond all measure
to be a blessing to the community I am in.
Because Holy Spirit dwells within me.
Amen!
It seems simple, but there is power in our words. A change in perspective can become a change in attitude. A change in attitude can become a change in outlook. And a change in our outlook, can lead to change in our OUTCOME!
