Seek To Know Jesus

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners, to announce the year when the LORD will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn, to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal His splendor.  Isaiah 61:1-3 NET

God isn’t an afterthought or random addition to the equation of life. He is life. He came to give us life. Salvation. John 10:10 says that He has come that we may have an abundant, full, good life. 

Exodus 33:14 NET And the LORD said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Our part is to surrender our lives, our will and our hearts so that He can have His way in us. 

And though God will stretch us and and crack us and solder us back together no matter how many times we sink under pressure, He only asks for us to seek and know Jesus, to trust and rest on the Lord’s promises of redemption, revival, SALVATION!

Mark 6:30-32 NET  Then the apostles gathered around Jesus and told Him everything they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come with Me privately to an isolated place and rest a while” (for many were coming and going, and there was no time to eat). So they went away by themselves in a boat to some remote place.

Rest isn’t a sign of weakness or retreat but a bold power move. It’s standing on the hilltop with Jesus at your side scanning the horizon and accepting God’s will for the road ahead. 

Rest is simply saying “God, I trust You”. I leave “it all” .... whatever that may be for each of us.... because the mighty Lord is the only one that can make this decision. 

Think about that for a moment.

When God Jesus Christ Holy Spirit speaks, nothing remains the same; everything changes.
