Simon Peter and the other fishermen—including his fishing partners, Jacob and John, the sons of Zebedee—were awestruck over the miracle catch of fish. Jesus answered, “Do not yield to your fear, Simon Peter. From now on you will catch men for salvation!” Luke 5:9-10 TPT
Hallelujah! Every Christian brother and sister’s purpose is to lead people to Jesus Christ.
God has limitless plans for each of us and the part we are to play for His kingdom is specific to each one who answers His call!
And amazing realization while reading these verses is that it is by no accident Jesus selected a fishing boat for a pulpit. There were practical reasons for this, of course, the sea a stage, the boat a pulpit from which to address the crowds.
Not strive but trust
Not race but rest
in Jesus.
The other day we heard the phrase
“Rest in Jesus, that rest is a weapon” amen!
REST, not sleep, or take a nap, although refreshing and necessary, rest as in stop, sit with Jesus, have a conversation about what God has in His heart for you. What the Lord’s path is as we live through His purpose for mankind. Rest in His covering, breathe deep, welcome instruction, rest in His unending grace and steadying fortitude.
