When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Luke 14:15 NASB
I remember a sign once in a theatre that simply stated, “All seats provide equal viewing of the universe” and when an audience walks into the theatre to find the best seat, the sign is a reminder that all seats are equal; there are no best seats. No matter where they sit in the room, they won’t miss any part of the show.
That’s actually a pretty good analogy - that wherever we are / in any situation any perspective - we are seated with Jesus Christ when we acknowledge and receive Him as the risen Saviour, Lord over every area of our lives.
No matter what’s happening to us, we can rest assured that all seats….. provide equal access to the presence of Christ at all times.
Isaiah 54:10 NASB For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Walking alongside Jesus as He takes us through adventures is fantastic! And so is sitting at His feet with adoration or being seated at the dinner table with Him.
When we hang out with Jesus, our steady companion, we will remain in perfect peace. We have everything we need right here in the moment with Him. My life and yours are exactly as they should be. We can stop wishing for a different life because in this seat, we enjoy Jesus and the life He ordains for us no matter what circumstances are trying to label us with.
And we get to know Him.
Time spent in Jesus Christ’s presence is life changing. In fact let’s be reminded to meet with Him and read the Bible, every day as we strengthen our reliance on God.
