The three disciples were dazed and terrified by this phenomenon, and they fell facedown to the ground. But Jesus walked over and touched them, saying, “Get up and stop being afraid.” When they finally opened their eyes and looked around, they saw no one else there but Jesus.  Matthew 17:6-8 NIV

We often hear it taught, written, spoken - that Life is what Jesus Christ offers us.

That is truth. He came to bring eternal life, abundant life and made it clear that it’s found in Him.

And on top of that ! Hallelujah! We’ve been offered so much more than sins forgiven and avoidance of eternal punishment for those sins. We’ve been gifted salvation, eternal life now.

Jesus offers Himself as the bread of life. Our invitation is to sit - stand - walk with Him each day, to read His words and to live by them. The breath of God, wisdom of Holy Spirit and living words of Jesus within us are life.

Are we experiencing this full life?

Jesus, we repent for thinking we can find life away from You. Thank You for speaking to us and teaching us.

Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Read the Bible, reread your Bible. The Book of Genesis is mesmerizing. What a beautiful, challenging, powerful, mysterious, compelling, and tragic beginning to the story of creation.

While reading I can’t help but get the sense that God is creating with a deep love - Everything He makes He calls good - He calls His people very good!

The Bible teaches from it’s early pages that it is not oxygen that sustains our life. No, it is the very breath of God that is the life animating source coursing through us all.

My friends God Himself is in us, with us, connected to us. How fantastic! Deep in the soul of humanity we have been pre-programmed to need communion with God, Wow!

He did not make us to stare at us from a distance. We were made for love and by love. God’s unconditional love is not a game to be won; it’s more like the home you needed all along. the joy that pours laughter out of us- The voice that calms the nightmares

Mark 4:37-39 Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious storm arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was nearly swamped. But Jesus was calmly sleeping in the stern, resting on a cushion. So they shook Him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t You even care that we are all about to die!” Fully awake, He rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Be still!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm.

Jesus - so so full of miraculous events while He walked among us (His creation) . Can you imagine the signs and wonders demonstrating a breathtaking collision of heaven and earth in His actual presence over two thousand years ago! the Kingdom.  And He is still with us - you don’t have to be out of bed long to see His hand creating the biggest or the smallest moments around us - the flowers that bud or healing the scrape from yesterday.

I find it interesting which events in the Bible we too often put in the “miracle category” and which ones we downplay - skim over -exclude.

For example, most of us would put Jesus feeding the five thousand in the keep it box right away, but what about the quiet woman at the well?

John 4:25-26 NIV The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am He.”

God shows us this glimpse of history - there is no grand parade event, there is no physical evidence of a wind storm, there is no spectacle, but this woman was completely transformed, from the inside, by her visit with Jesus.

Everything that had once been touched by shame and regret and guilt was now touched by hope and grace and love.

Thank You God!

As we live and breathe today, let us not be so stunned by the large problem that we miss the small step of faith. If we are too caught up in searching for the grand spectacle, the big solution, we just might miss a conversation with the King Himself.

What an idea! While reading the Bible ask Holy Spirit to teach you, learn from Him that all things are of God and all are from God -  because brothers and sisters this Perspective is powerful; Jesus spent so much of His time and energy helping people wake up to a new way of thinking, seeing, and living. God’s perspective!

He saw through the setting or circumstance and went straight for the heart. We read this often in His parables- (check out the Book of Matthew, the Book of Mark, the Book of Luke)

Jesus takes everyday situations and flips them upside-down and inside-out, with each story causing us to think, rethink, reexamine, and relearn what it means to be God’s children, pieces of His creation.

As followers of Jesus, we don’t get to know the details of every chapter of His story, but we do know the ending. In light of where we believe this is all going, we’ve got to let that inform the way we view our life right now. Praise Him!

Yes Lord You are Holy holy holy.

Wow, doesn’t that immediately turn your eyes towards Him! Our Saviour? The Risen King, Jesus Christ!
