Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Not that I have already attained this – that is, I have not already been perfected – but I strive to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me. Philippians 3:12-14
Say we are out for dinner with friends and spill coffee on our white shirt, we spend the rest of the evening wearing our stain, trying to cover it up. The same goes for our sins. Often walk around with the stain of sin because we aren't finished with it yet. God let's us walk out our shame, stain, because if we do not go through these seasons where we realize we messed up we will continue to sin, to repeat the same mistakes and poor choices. Do not lose hope. We are never alone on our journey. Jesus will be walking with us thru the forest and the desert - yet making us carry the burden until He has changed us. If you can keep walking with Jesus while wearing your stain and still hold His hand and still talk to Him and still believe that when the process is over, when the season is over, He is going to change you then you will in fact have humbled yourself and understood that it was never about you but about your changing in His time. And when God changes us we come out as a different person. Born again. And by His grace we know longer remember who or what we were. We are not identified by the names people called us. {tweetme}Our identity is found in God: we know who we are in Christ.{/tweetme}
