But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 NET
Our Saviour does not patronize us or scoff at our needs. He responds generously and without judgment. Let Him into the mire and muck of your world, for only if we invite Him in, can He pull us out.
I know Jesus pulled me out, He accepted me, His wayward child. Holy Spirit doesn’t gloss over our sinful behavior, but He accepts us and knows what He could do for His kingdom with us.
Hebrews 4:16 TPT So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.
Jesus extends grace to come as we are, and speaks truth that helps us become what He sees in us. The Bible teaches us that Jesus came for whoever believes in Him.
God exports His grace worldwide.
Jesus illustrated that God was more concerned about bringing everyone in than shutting certain people out. We are always invited to hang out with Holy Spirit!
He wants the world to know that a person is worth something simply because he or she is a person. Jesus shows us this through His acceptance of the Samaritan woman at the well, Zacchaeus, and the crook on the cross beside him.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 CSB For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.
Why does Jesus seek us? accept us? Jesus’ love does not depend on what we do for Him, we have value simply because we are God’s creation.
I know I don’t deserve love like that. None of us do. But I can smile because I know that giving Jesus my heart is all I have, and that is all it takes.
Luke 19:9-10 TPT Jesus said to him, Your repentance shows that today life has come to you and your household, and that you are a true son of Abraham. The Son of Man has come to seek out and to give life to those who are lost.
Keeping our eyes on Jesus is key to experiencing His presence in our lives. That’s what God wants us to do. We aren’t to be oblivious to the overwhelming challenges that life brings. We’re to counterbalance them with long looks at God’s accomplishments. God has recorded His accomplishments in Scripture.
Make the deliberate decision to set your hope on Jesus.
If we have bold faith that Jesus can help and a high hope that He will, even while we have nothing to give, we can offer Him our hurt.
My friends, He sees it, He understands it. Maybe that has kept you from coming to God, but now you are taking steps in His direction. That is faith, and it is enough.
Hebrews 11:1 TPT Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
Healing begins when we reach out to God. Healing starts when we take a step of faith. God’s help is near and always available, but it is given only to those who seek it.
If you are low on faith but need the healing power of Christ, rely on the wisdom of Holy Spirit. He will pray on our behalf!
As we reach out to Jesus with whatever faith we have, as bothers and sisters in Christ help us draw near to Him, Jesus will respond. He can do the impossible for us, healing us physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
He will walk with us through storms, and He can calm the storms. He is in charge of it all so our faith is well-placed and we can give Him glory for it all with raw sincere worship and praise for our mighty God.
I was playing worship songs in the background while writing the message this week - reflecting on Worship - it’s when we’re aware that what we’ve been given is far greater than what we can give. Worship is the awareness that were it not for Jesus Christ, we’d still be hobbling and hurting, bitter and broken. Worship is the “thank You Lord” that refuses to be silenced—a voluntary act of gratitude offered by us to our Savior.
Psalms 95:1 TPT Come on, everyone! Let’s sing for joy to the Lord! Let’s shout our loudest praises to our God who saved us!
Can you imagine?!? There will be a day, when we are finally fully restored, redeemed, healed and standing in front of Jesus Christ worshiping Him face-to-face!
Jesus came as our teacher and guide to reveal His heart, His joy, His passion, His plan, and His sorrows. We are not left alone with our wanderings and wonderings.
And yet it astounds me to think on this. Jesus doesn’t hold His position over our heads. He stoops down to serve us as He shows us what the kingdom of God is like. And He stands up on our behalf, placing Himself between us and those who would call us unworthy. He gives His love, forgiveness, and salvation.
