Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let His mindset become your motivation. He existed in the form of God, yet He gave no thought to seizing equality with God as He supreme prize. Instead He emptied Himself of His outward glory by reducing Himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human! Philippians 2:4-7 TPT
Whoa. He, God Jesus Holy Spirit, Triune God, humbly set His rights aside.
He chose humility because He loves perfectly. Love is His motivation.
Jesus loves God, so He obeyed Him.
Jesus loves us, so He served us.
This is the day the LORD has brought about. We will be happy and rejoice in it. Psalms 118:24 NET
We know we are not alone these days in facing changes that we did not foresee or plan... uncertain of what lays ahead next week let alone next month, or in the new year but the truth is, rejoice in it! In whatever comes. Rejoice that the Lord is continually working newness into our lives.
Don’t let an abrupt change in circumstance define you or dampen your expectations. Anytime is the right time. This is the time to make a fresh start! Like here. Right now. He is a God of unlimited creativity; we can expect Him to do surprising things in this year that stretches out before us.
It is all a magnificent gift.
Our daily lives are so often a complex mix of busy, exciting and chaotic, tossed together with seemingly mundane tasks but all the everyday moments are where we can meet with Jesus. Seek His Face throughout this day that He has made. God has carefully prepared it for each of us—with tender attention to every detail. He wants us to rejoice and be glad in it.
