Now Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He stopped, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”  Luke 11:1 NET

As Rabbi, Jesus was expected to guide His disciples in all matters spiritual – not the least of which was their prayer life.

Reading this verse I think we can recognize the humility and willingness to take instruction that Jesus’ disciples demonstrated.  As disciples today, we, too, need to seek the Lord’s guidance when it comes to our prayer life.

My friends, we must be receptive to the things God would have us pray about.  Even when we are unsure how to proceed in prayer, as the earlier disciples were in, we must also remember that Holy Spirit is with us to intercede on our behalf. Hallelujah.
