So I say this, and insist in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts. Because they are callous, they have given themselves over to indecency for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. if indeed you heard about Him and were taught in Him, just as the truth is in Jesus. You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old you who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new you who has been created in God’s image – in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth. Ephesians 4:17-24 NET

{tweetme}Jesus came to seek and save the lost.{/tweetme} He commanded us to do likewise. What are we doing in response to that command? I have been lost, I have been broken, I am a sinner. I know we have been surprised and hurt by the words and actions of individuals and I am certain we have all acted in ways that have surprised and hurt others. Our destination taken in the journey with Jesus must be seen with a goal to dissolve any sanitized, minimized, or humanized view of sin. If we cannot grasp even a portion of the weight of our offences, it is impossible for us to comprehend the weight of what was required by Jesus  to accomplish our reconciliation with God and to fully receive and rejoice in His amazing grace.  Through the blood of Christ shed, the penalty was paid for all of our sin, and provision was made for our weakness. He not only took our sin upon himself, He gave us His righteousness in exchange, and with it, He gave us the power to overcome sin and the invitation the carry others to the foot of His cross.
