O Come, Emmanuel

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  Luke 2:10 KJV

We must proclaim the great joy, the truth.  The hope that is found in Jesus Christ is one that cannot be shaken or taken away. It is not “hope” in the sense of wishful thinking either, as we often mean when we refer to hope today. 

But no, rather hope is a certain expectation that gives us unwavering confidence in the midst of trials. The hope to which we have fixed our eyes on is the certain return of Jesus and the hope of our own salvation.
