I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NIV
In a world that’s desperate for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control — we, as followers of Jesus, constantly have the opportunity to reflect God’s nature to others.
This is why the practice of abiding in Him is so important. And the metaphor Jesus used to describe our need for Him is so powerful.
A branch can’t grow on its own. It needs the nutrients and root system of the vine to grow and thrive. And the same is true for our lives in Jesus.
As we stay connected to Him and abide in His Word, His Way, and His presence, it is then we’ll be enabled and empowered to give freely of all that He is to the world around us — it is then we will have a fruitful, abundant life.
