It sounds so simple, but it is true: there is power in our words. Words can hurt, harm, and discourage. But words can also mend, heal, and encourage. It is all up to you. Its up to me. The saying “but words can never hurt me” isn’t true.
James 3:8-9 NET but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.
The words that we tell ourselves, and the words that we tell those around us can have a direct, lasting impact on life.
This can be both good and bad; it depends on our choices, our decisions. Speaking the Word of God is to make the decision for a positive impact.
