All those I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent! Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears My voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with Me. I will grant the one who conquers permission to sit with Me on My throne, just as I too conquered and sat down with My Father on His throne.  Revelation 3:19-21 NET

Our God is our Heavenly Father. He wants His family home, at His side in eternity.  It is His intention to bring light to what is dark in us. He intends to separate out the darkness, to do the fine surgery that divides those aspects of our character and nature that wound Him from those that bring Him glory.

He does this that we might produce fruit, fruit that lasts. Hallelujah!! This divine division is both beautiful and costly. It cost Him sweat and blood; it will likely cost us similarly.

We may not like what Jesus cuts away from us. We may not appreciate what Holy Spirit births in us either—but when we are surrendered to the will of God, any cost to self will be embraced without fear.

Luke 11:9-10 NET So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Jesus told us to ask, seek, knock, press in, chase. These are words of action—actions we can all do for the glory of God’s kingdom, for the salvation of souls, ours and others!
