In Word Or Deed

And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Colossians 3:17 NET

As we’re mindful of making time in our daily moments to praise God with sincere gratitude, we honor God by doing our tasks in His name. 

In the name of Jesus! and when we are feeling sorry for ourselves instead of grateful in any circumstance we had better ask ourselves...

Do my words build others up or injure their spirits?

Do I forgive even when I don’t feel like it?

Do I love people even when it is a challenge to do so?

Am I kind even when others aren’t kind to me?

Am I gentle when it’s easier to be harsh?

And if we are honest with ourselves, too often the answer to those questions can be “no”.   That’s ok, God loves us still, relentlessly in fact, He forgives us, and He corrects us, filling us with Holy Spirit to clear our minds of self and open ourselves to His way, keeping our eyes on Jesus.
