Somewhere in all this mess there is a sense that God allows these times to come to His children to ‘prepare’ us, perhaps to increase our trust and deepen His relationship with us. Salvation offered....we certainly never welcome adversity trials, tribulations, but, as I reflect on my most difficult times, I do, albeit retrospectively, see God’s hand marvellously in the trying circumstances of my life. Here’s the thing, listen to Jesus speaking about Himself, the Chief Cornerstone…. Amazing! And as we do not have liberty to sanitize Scripture for our comfort we can read moments of adversity encountered by various Bible characters and try to make sense, without resorting to platitudes, of what God was doing and how the saints of old responded. {tweetme}Pick up the Bible and dive into it’s message, God’s written word is true, raw and living, an undeniable resource as we walk alongside Jesus Christ.{/tweetme}
