For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.  Romans 8:14-16 NET

As we grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we learn how to recognize the guidance of Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples that Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself, but that which He hears from the Father. The direction of Holy Spirit is always in agreement with God’s Word. Any thought or word that comes to us must be in alignment with what God has said, or it is not the Spirit’s leading.

Have you been in a place of indecision and questioned if it was the will of God for your life? Were your thoughts, decisions and actions in agreement with His Word?  Ask Holy Spirit. Pray to Him for wisdom, affirmation.

Galatians 5:22-26 NET But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, being jealous of one another.

There’s actually another great test we find in the book of Galatians. It talks about the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. Holy Spirit’s promptings will line up with those outcomes. Sometimes, Holy Spirit asks us to be a little more loving. Or patient. Or kind. But He’ll never ask us to be the opposite. He’ll never ask us to be impatient or hateful.

Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice.” When He speaks, you’ll recognize Him.
