After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created. Revelation 4:1-11 NASB

As January has headed into the new year like a freight-train, it has also been a reminder to get on our knees before God and thank Him for His mercy, His providing.... heat, food, a coat, a roof.... truly humbling isn't it, that God is with us here right now! .... When we accept God’s love, which fills us overabundantly, we begin to learn what is truly essential and what isn't, and with each nonessential thing we let go of, our hearts grow calmer, quieter, more open to the teachings of Jesus. Our souls grow lighter. When emotions are running high, and we feel run over, call out to Christ, grasp His strong hand, trust God to supply the answers to the steps in front of you and the days ahead.

Intentionally listening for Holy Spirit and experiencing His truth and wisdom bring discernment and faith into your journey, receive the deep peace of the Saviour. It is so needed. When we carry God’s light received so freely from our Lord we can pour it over our households, social groups, neighbourhoods, workplace, streets, anywhere and everywhere. We are all community together, for better or for worse. Even in the midst of the uncertainty today, prayerfully reading the Bible from the Book of Genesis through the Book of Revelation, teaches and reminds us that God knows all that is, all that was, and all that will be. Yes! Praise be to God! Im reminded of singing The Doxology, Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-3 NASB1995 ”Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.“

This is the year of the Lord, the day of the Lord! Rejoice and be glad in it. Make the decision to give your life to Jesus. Don’t let your heart be enslaved to the things of this world. The leaders that we see today will change. The nations that we see today will change. God never changes. His Word never changes. His Way of doing things will never change.

Praise and worship God, holy holy holy God almighty, pour forth all, praise to the Lord most high, give Jesus Christ all the glory, all the honor, seek Holy Spirit, ask Him to lead You, to let your walk reflect His Word. The landscape that we see today will change by His grace. There are 24 hours in a day, there are 24 elders in Revelation, 2024… God’s new year… Let’s build our lives on His Word, on the word that never changes and endures.
