There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:9-14 NASB

There is urgency in the hours God has given humanity, it is time to seek the Lord, the Bible reminds that it was only to His disciples Jesus spoke, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

We are at the fork in the road my friends, either we choose eternal death and destruction, suffering and torture at the hands of the enemy or we choose the narrow path to freedom with Christ, and eternal life reconciled to God, seated at the table of Jesus.

Jesus teaches, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. It's like a man going away; He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore, keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back-whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!"

This is our task, watching for His return, prepared and awake, and the way we watch is by focusing upon His Word and promises now.  Apostle Paul teaches in Romans 13, "Salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand."

Jesus announces in Mark chapter 1 , "The time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the Good News." And He means now,

Paul declares in 2 Corinthians chapter 6, "Now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation."

And like the coming of Christmas that seems so slow to a child, Advent will come to its glorious fulfillment. Apostle Peter wrote down in his first epistle, the first chapter, "You believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."

That’s the way it is when Jesus comes to be our High Priest.

As we celebrate this season, lets not forget: We can only be forgiven, healed, and set free because Jesus Christ was born, Christmas.
