Be broken, O peoples, and be shattered; And give ear, all remote places of the earth. Gird yourselves, yet be shattered; Gird yourselves, yet be shattered. Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted; State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God is with us.” For thus the Lord spoke to me with mighty power and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying, “You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’ In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, And He shall be your dread. Then He shall become a sanctuary; But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over, And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Many will stumble over them, Then they will fall and be broken; They will even be snared and caught.” Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. And I will wait for the Lord who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him. Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion. When they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should not a people consult  God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, the word of God, it is because they have no dawn. They will pass through the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward. Then they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be driven away into darkness. Isaiah 8:9-22 NASB

Friends, we are saved to be vessels for God, His light carrying sons and daughters. He allows us to be messengers speaking the word of God, and the Gospel must be a part of us, our lives are to reflect a holy example of the reality of His message, therefore says the Lord, repent…… it takes a heart broken by conviction of sin, baptized by Holy Spirit, and crushed into joyful surrender to God’s purpose to make a person’s life a holy example of God’s kingdom on earth.

When I chose to reach for Jesus’ hand He completely replaced my heart with a new one.  Since that day I have chosen to make the Bible a daily interaction with God Jesus Holy Spirit…… and my heart has responded to His word by beating strong  - The first year into my new life in Christ I was given insight from Holy Spirit that we are rescued to be part of God’s rescue plan.  He made it clear and simple. I, a sinner, was failing and falling. And without Jesus I was facing eternal death.  but I cried out to God as I fell and He caught me, He rescued me.  Not only rescued but redeemed, revived.

Pray with Jesus, ask Him to redeem You, in the name of Jesus Christ know that any stronghold of shame or condemnation, any incident or circumstance that the enemy may have over your thoughts and actions is covered by God’s forgiving grace and embrace the new creation God has fashioned with His mighty hands. The Bible is history written down to teach of God’s just judgement and His incomprehensible forgiveness of our sin.

2 Timothy 3:12-15 NASB “Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

I love the Bible. It is the primary way God has chosen to reveal Himself to us. It’s the gift He uses to remind us of who He is, to explain His heart, nature, and will. When we read Scripture, not only are we reading the Bible, but the Bible is reading us! That explains why Hebrews 4:12 NIV tells us, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Over and over, Jesus tells us if we know Him then we know God and have seen God. And a way we get to know Jesus is through the Bible. It’s His powerful, authoritative, enlightening, and life-changing self-expression, written down for all, the Bible is the very breath of God on each page!

Let’s seek God and allow Him to have complete liberty in our lives while we study His living word…. My friends, without sincere devotion to the Bible, we will quickly lose sight of the true, genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ! Without retaining His Word in our hearts, we won’t be able to recognize His voice when He speaks!

It’s truly a remarkable thing, a bewildering gift from the Lord, that we even have a Bible we can read whenever we want! It’s a blessing i can’t find a big enough word for! Can you imagine! that for almost all of human history, dating back to the Old Testament and through most of church history up until a few centuries ago, and actually even today in many places around the world, Christians have not had their own personal copies of the Bible.

People gathered to hear someone read God’s word to them. And there were some folks too who didn’t have access to a copy to read, but had to recite it from their memories: rabbis, scholars, priests, and Pharisees would literally memorize the first five books of the Bible! It really puts Apostle Paul’s instruction to “devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture” into perspective, doesn’t it? Because the public reading of Scripture was all most believers had since the dawn of the Church!
