Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NASB
What adds heaviness to my daily walk, to my husband’s ? … certainly when I’m on a tirade about a news headline or new health guideline- politics and policies - thank You Holy Spirit for the check in my step! He is the One who lifts the weight carries the weight - we get to choose to tell people about Jesus Christ - to invite Holy Spirit to pour out our words with grace and compassion. Talk to people about how the only reason you are still standing is because God lifted you up, pray for them with Holy Spirit’s power and Jesus Christ’s authority!
If we are on assignment with God we will long for others to know of His peace, His empathy and compassion - sanctification is for all people of all walks of life - Resting in the mercy and forgiveness of Christ gives our run vitality. We hear Jesus WHEN we move towards Him - declaring OUR allegiance at the foot of the cross and offering I AM HERE LORD USE ME - it is seeking Him - looking for Him, trusting Him, Caring about where men and women who have not yet encountered the grace of God will spend eternity that will in fact fuel our actions to automatically seek to glorify God.
Romans 1:14-16 NASB “I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
If we waited until we thought we were ready to share the Gospel, the mission of God shared through His people would come to a halt. We cannot wait until we are comfortably ready. We have to accept that we often function awkwardly throughout life—and that is OK.
Every new endeavour in life reveals that we are awkward, if we are not awkward some place in our lives, then we are just not growing. Sharing our faith in Jesus Christ with a firm yet compassionate demeanour affirms the Lord’s message and goes a long way towards walking along side another’s journey of repentance, healing and reconciliation to God. In God’s kingdom here on earth We each play a part part in the revival and salvation of His people. All of its the parts gathered as one body, pointing the world towards the Christ.
Our mission as a part of God’s army is this;
that we would live lives worthy of the Gospel Jesus;
that we would allow ourselves to be internally changed by the presence and power of Holy Spirit;
that with God’s authority, and within His will, we would reconcile this broken world to His kingdom.
Let us step forth solid on God’s word for His glory - we cannot halt in fear of rejection, or dwell in the comfort of complacency - we get to (we must) reach out strongly in the name of Jesus Christ to those He let’s us encounter - God is moving their lives into our paths and our lives into theirs so that all may hear testimonies of the Lord’s redemption and in turn pray to Jesus for His mercy and salvation.
When we do so, God is pleased. But as much as God loves it when we do this, the enemy hates it, the flesh resists it, and the world is repulsed by it. May we be ready to proclaim the word of God, to speak and share the true Gospel from the Bible, and stand firm with our faith in Jesus Christ, Hallelujah! May we make the choice to wander no more!
