Now Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He stopped, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” So He said to them, When you pray, say: Father, may Your name be honored; may Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And do not lead us into temptation.  Luke 11:1-4 NET

With worship filled prayer Jesus points us toward the pathway of praise-filled prayer and when He says;

1. Our Father in heaven (we thank You for that relationship You have given us through Your Son, our Saviour),

2. Hallowed be Your name (for You are holy, and we worship You and revel in the beauty of Your completeness and excellence),

3. Your Kingdom come (for there is no action of human working that can bring about Your peace, power, and blessing);

4. Your will be done (because we bow in full submission to declare, as did Jesus Christ, “Not My will but Yours be done”),

5. On earth as it is in heaven (for there is no question Your will is exercised where Your throne is established).

When we walk with Jesus we are prayer warriors. We learn to pray in prayer and by prayer.  We hear (read) Jesus teaching prayer, it prompts us to action:

He taught solitude in prayer (See Matthew 6:6 NET)

He taught humility and tenacity in prayer (See Luke 11:1–13 NET)

He taught faithfulness in prayer (See Luke 18:1 NET)

He taught power in prayer (See Mark 11:22–26 NET)

We see Jesus pray, and it moves us to pray:

When He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray.  Mark 6:46 NET

See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. Always rejoice, constantly pray, in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 NET

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.  Romans 8:26-27 NET

Don't have the words? That's okay. We don't need perfect words. All we really need to do is come to Him, and He will translate our tears into words that His heart knows well.

....... again the Lord’s prayer is spoken in the Bible.

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your sins.  Mark 11:24-25 NET

 How often do we forget to run to the Lord and pursue His heart in prayer? Nothing is too small. Nothing is too big. He wants all of us. Lets seek to be persistent with our prayers until we get face to face with the Lord Himself.

Don’t close your ears to Holy Spirit. When Jesus asks what we want Him to do for us about the incredible problem that is confronting us, remember that He doesn’t work in the way of the world, but in His way.
