For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” So they said to Him, “Sir, give us this bread all the time!” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to Me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty. John 6:33-35 NET
Jesus, You are our river of life. Thank You for planting us in Your presence and filling us with joy and fruit for Your glory! Amen!
Loving Jesus is more than an emotion; it is a life lived according to God’s ways, we get to praise Him singing worship and we get to praise Him by listening quietly to Holy Spirit- we get to praise God by trusting Him with our innermost prayers, we praise Him by reading the Bible. Inviting Holy Spirit into our very life, all of these actions are the daily choices we make about our thoughts, our relationships, and our character which indicate we trust God, love Jesus, rely on Holy Spirit.
We get to choose to overcome evil or we can choose to succumb to it. We get to choose to get into God’s word and become connected with God Himself.
It is certainly tempting to question God and demand answers when things don’t go as we in the flesh had planned or when the unexpected happens. Jesus has compassion for us in those moments. But while we can wrestle with things that are hard to understand, there comes a time when we must implicitly trust God even when we don’t like or agree with the whys and hows of our life. Jesus is the Who the Why the How.
That’s why it matters who and what we worship because that is who or what we will serve - be it our wealth, our career, our family or our sin.
Make the effort everyday- throughout the day, to keep your thoughts on Jesus, pray, talk with Him, worship, sing to Him, because anything that takes the place of God in our life is an idol and inevitably an idol leads us away from God.
Luke 9:1-6 NASB And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing. And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that city. And as for those who do not receive you, as you go out from that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Only Jesus - King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
His authority was not given by man but by God Himself and His kingdom was not of this world. When Jesus walked the earth He taught, healed and delivered people with the power and authority of God Himself.
When people met Jesus Christ they acknowledged the power and authority that Jesus had and believed in Him- like a floodgate opened and pouring His life into and over their lives. His power and authority are not brash and demeaning of others but rather by His power we understand our place in God’s kingdom.
It’s knowing that we are co-heirs with Christ, praying for God’s will to rule, it’s believing that we can do what Jesus did for others if we accept, and receive Jesus Christ as the risen Saviour, our personal Saviour…... If we acknowledge that Jesus was crucified as the ransom for our sin and conquering death He rose again.
We can never partake of His promises, power and authority if we don’t submit completely to the Lordship of Christ in our life. My friends, our stance must be one of humility and total surrender to God for He alone is worthy. Jesus is King of a Kingdom like no other. It’s a Kingdom founded in the hearts of those who love Christ and who dedicate their lives in His service. This Kingdom is unseen but very real, it’s supernatural in its expansion and it is all inclusive in nature. It’s an upside down-right side up kind of kingdom which causes its citizens to live impactful lives for God’s people while on earth.
When we walk out our lives with Jesus first it changes our perspective and then proceeds to change our path. We no longer live for ourselves but for God and His kingdom. We don’t hoard the gospel, God’s grace, Jesus Christ’s truth, or Holy Spirit’s compassion, for ourselves instead we readily give it all away as God assigns.
And Why? Because one thing is is certain, and the last words of Jesus recorded in Scripture, confirm….. Jesus is coming soon.....
AMEN!
