Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
Revelation 12:10 NASB
Whoa- I replay this verse often when fear is grabbing my heals- I grab hold of the truth that Jesus Christ’s ultimate display of love on the cross claimed victory over death, over self loathing, over bitterness towards our brothers and sisters and He invites us to share in His victory. The Lord created us to live with His peace in our mind, heart, and spirit. And! it’s up to us to choose to receive and walk in the victorious power of His love.
In Romans 8:38, the apostle Paul said he was convinced that nothing could separate us from the love of God. We, too, have the opportunity to be that unshakeably confident in God’s love for us and abide in the peace provided by that love. If you ever have a moment where you question the extent of God’s love for you, all you have to do is look to the cross.
When fear comes knocking, we have a choice to make: Let it overtake us, or remember Jesus’ victorious act of love and choose to believe that He has won the battle for our peace. When everything seems to be going wrong in this world, stand firm on the truth that fear has no power over us.
Claim His peace, and walk forward in confidence that you are fully covered by His love!
