But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-26 NASB
Everywhere we go, we carry Holy Spirit, the life-giving presence of almighty God. God longs for us to grow with Him. And I know you feel that same longing in the deepest part of your soul. Welcome Jesus into your life. He is at your side already. We, the body of Christ need you. our darkening world out there needs the you.
Holy Spirit is here to teach us so that we may represent God well in our communities. His kingdom on earth.
As Christians who have accepted Jesus Christ as the risen Saviour we can can literally sense the presence of Holy Spirit in ourselves and in those we meet or already know, and as we grow in our faith, spending time every day in prayer, singing songs of praise and worship, studying and reading the Bible we all get to learn to hear His comforting voice.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Not only does Holy Spirit guide us in the sense of showing us His way, that we may walk it; His will also guides us in the more fundamental sense of ensuring that, whatever happens, whatever mistakes we may make, we shall come safely home to Him. Slippings and strayings there will be, no doubt, but the everlasting arms of the Lord are beneath us; we shall be caught, rescued, restored. This is God's promise; this is how good He is.
Matthew 5:1-12 NASB When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Amen!
Jesus Christ must have been teaching a renewed outlook when He walked among His creation 2,000 years ago and He is certainly teaching the a renewed outlook now, correcting our perceptions, bringing a wholeness to broken parts, giving unconditional forgiveness, and offering life giving teachings. We have all committed acts that bring hurt and shame to us and others. Don't flinch or look away. Jesus is with us. Make a declaration about who you are now as a brother or sister united under God Jesus Christ Holy Spirit and what we have because of Him. When satan hears us assert our identity in Christ, when we are so filled with Holy Spirit that our heart beats with His and the light of God is pouring out of us, the enemy no longer sees a lost person; but instead sees Jesus at our side.
Think on it for a minute……the heart of man, though small, is big enough for Jesus Christ to live in, if we will only make room for Him. The love that Christ teaches can only be given to us by God. It is one of the fruits of Holy Spirit. When you come to Jesus Christ, He transforms you. Your past is forgiven. We receive a power to love His people, beyond our natural ability to love. Thank You Holy Spirit! Thank You for teaching us to clear out our junk, sin, grime, and make room in our hearts for Jesus!
It is because of God that we have had peace in our hearts, have it now, and will have peace forever. By acknowledging and receiving Jesus Christ as our Saviour, by confessing that we are sinners saved only by His atoning blood, we will have His ways imparted to us.
