The oath which God swore to our father Abraham, To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, Would serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. Luke 1:73-75 NASB
Today while I was reading through notes and Bible verses, I sensed Holy Spirit reminding me to search myself, to present my flaws and sin to God as an offering of submission to His will over my life - have courage, He is with you my friends as you take His hand to wade through the stuff that holds you chained -frozen- in place barely treading water - Do I believe I need to be holy? Do I believe that God can come into me and make me holy? Yes! Because of Jesus Christ! The reading of the Gospel awakens an intense humbling because it reveals my unholiness, BUT the word of God also awakens an intense yearning and desire within me to sit with Jesus, to know Him, to receive the mercy and forgiveness freely poured over us by the Saviour.
God is not some eternal blessing-machine for people to use, and He did not come to save mankind out of pity—He came to save us because He created us to be holy ….. to be imitators of the Lord (Ephesians 5:1-2 NASB Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.)
Atonement through the Cross of Christ means that God put us back into perfect oneness with Himself through the death of Jesus Christ, without a trace of anything coming between us any longer.
Acts 10:34-36 NASB Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him. The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all). Because Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Messiah, lives in God’s house, He dwells in us. The body of Christ. The Church. And He has made it clear that we become citizens of the Kingdom of God by putting our faith in Jesus and giving our lives to be His disciples. By His mercy we are saved!
Knowing God is first means not only is He God but that there are NO OTHER GODS - not lesser gods not a god attached to a different religion - THERE ARE NO OTHER GODS and we are to earnestly seek absolute purity as we walk with God, placing every detail of our life under the scrutiny of God Himself including what we choose to believe, the words coming from our mouth, the fiction we read, the latest movie we watch and every thought running over our mind— Never tolerate, because of sympathy for yourself or for others, any practice that is not in keeping with the holiness God.
Holiness is not simply what God gives me or you, but what God has given His people that is being exhibited in and through our lives. As Christ’s, we carry His name and His message.
Whoa. God, thank You for bringing us together into Your family and giving us a home in Your Kingdom!
