Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.  Matthew 7:15-20 NASB

One of my deepest, richest joys has been discovering who Holy Spirit is in every step of my life’s journey with Christ. What a delight to see how each name that He has been given in Scripture—Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby—shows us more of His character.

Experiencing the reality and power of  Holy Spirit has provoked in me a deep love for the One who is always present…Jesus Christ in me.

Ezekiel 33:19 NIV And if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live by doing so.

Since the fall into sin of the first humans, Adam and Eve, sinful nature has become a part of our lives - a  tendency to do evil things. David realized this and said, "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me" (Psalm 51:5).

As sinners, we deserve punishment based on God's holiness and justice, but God has provided a way out.  Because of His immense love for us, Jesus have His life to die on the cross. The blood of Christ reconciles us to God.

Because of Him, we are no longer enemies of God. "...Christ himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness" (1 Peter 2:24).

We get to earnestly live in repentance after receiving the gift of salvation. We must repent of our sins! We cannot receive God's grace and remain living a life that goes against the will of God. God has poured out His grace while we were still sinners; now we are cleansed and our sins are forgiven. Living in repentance is a commandment; it is not just an appeal.

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.  John 14:16-17 NASB

It is essential that we consciously admit the sin that holds us by the ankle, forsake and reject the activities, the choices, the misdeeds that grieve Holy Spirit, that go against God’s Commandments - because Living in the truth is a necessity and a logical consequence of accepting God's grace.

Therefore, let's pay attention to our lives and examine the things that might drag us into sin more: the environment, what we watch and read, and our relationships.

The word repentance simply means “to change one’s mind”, and honestly the only hope we have of experiencing true change is with the help, wisdom, correction and knowledge from Holy Spirit. As you and I respond to God’s love and His working in our hearts, Holy Spirit begins to shape how we think, which will lead to a change in how we live. As this change increases so will our desire to turn away from anything that dishonours God.

Make no mistake, what Jesus did on the cross was no light matter. If we fail to turn from our sin and place our trust in Him, a dreadful eternity awaits us.

The choice is ours; We are at war with sin and the flesh. The works of the flesh are sinful natures that we must abandon. The war against sin and the flesh will go on every day for the rest of our lives.  The ways of man, the world we are walking in, are not the ways of Jesus.

We have got to stop doing what it is and escape the trap by choosing to live according to God's will every day because we can't only repent once in a lifetime; it is a continuous process in our lives. We will perish when we do not truly repent.

What has happened to holiness within the lives of those who call themselves by God’s name? Is the lack of holiness an indication that Holy Spirit is withdrawing Himself? Because make no mistake about it, Holy Spirit is indeed pure. He is holy.

I believe the body of Christ, our brothers and sisters spread throughout the entirety of God’s created earth - we could refer to Jesus’ family as the church today- the body of Christ is in desperate need of revival. We speak of revival - we study past revivals - we pray for revival but what if the revival of this generation is not a tent meeting or a series of services to save the lost, but a spiritual awakening that will compel God’s people to REPENT of our sin, return to the cross, and recommit ourselves to living lives that reflect His purity- for God is holy holy holy!
