This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified. Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices. And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.  Acts 19:17-19 NASB

Many people confess faith in Jesus Christ, but our testimony is only valid at the point when we can pick the fruit of repentance from our lives.  Literally “by our deeds we will be known as followers of Jesus"

John‬ ‭13:34-35‬‬ NIV A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
