Sure & Steadfast

In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:17-20 NASB

God, with You as our anchor we will always be ok, it is with Your strength that we get to run the race that is set before us with patient endurance, looking to Jesus, Who is the author and finisher of our faith, and the solid Rock upon which we stand. Yes Lord, we recognize that this is a spiritual race and the forbearance and fortitude we need are not physical but spiritual - spiritual strength, spiritual perseverance and spiritual endurance.  Help us to lay aside anything and everything that diverts our attention from You, thank You for the example and encouragement of the many men and women of faith, who have run the same spiritual race before us. And may their faithful witness give each of us encouragement and determination to follow in their steps, empowered by the strength of the indwelling Holy Spirit, to the praise and glory of God.  We pray hope, we pray healing, we pray joy, we pray deliverance, we pray reconciliation, we pray love, we pray rejoicing, we pray salvation, we pray revival, we pray forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
