Now, according to Your word, Sovereign Lord, permit Your servant to depart in peace. For my eyes have seen Your salvation that You have prepared in the presence of all peoples: a light, for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to Your people. Luke 2:29-32 NET
God, oh God, Thank You. We are all guilty of looking so far ahead into the future that we forget to slow down and just be still in Your presence. Lord, help us to not merely try and rush through this week; rather, help us to linger in You, teaching us through the Bible the beauty of resting in Your word. Beyond just sleep or lounging, we know that resting securely in You forms a peace that goes beyond understanding and provides a true refreshment, and so we pray for Your holy rest upon us. We trust Your plans, that each season in our lives holds significant meaning and perfect timing, thank You that we can rest assured that You use all things. As easy as it can be to fall into routines and ruts, we ask that You heighten our senses to embrace and appreciate these days. These days are not mundane, for they are Your days that You have chosen for us to live in. Help us to live to the fullest and to rest to the fullest. We praise Your holy name, We pray hope, we pray healing, we pray deliverance, we pray love, we pray rejoicing, we pray salvation, we pray revival, we pray forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
