The problem with our worldly wants is that they are only ever temporarily quenched. Regardless of how much water you drink you will get thirsty again. No matter how much you eat, you will get hungry again. That's just part of being human. But what of the deeper desires within us? The longings of the heart? The need for peace, for acceptance, purpose and meaning - for which a temporary way only leaves us deeply dissatisfied. Friend, the Holy Spirit is reminding us that Jesus is THE only way.
