For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; you must acknowledge the greatness of our God. His work is perfect, for all His ways are just. He is our reliable God who is never unjust, He is fair and upright.  Deuteronomy 32:3-4 NET

When we are afraid and unsure, feeling alone in our struggles, may we run to the only refuge that can save us. Run to God, He who understands each hurt, each failure, each loss and feels the anguish we feel. Know that Jesus Christ is a safe place and a rock we can stand on.

In fact He is the cornerstone, the solid and sure foundation in our unsteady world. When we can acknowledge, declare, the greatness of God, and get that perspective imbedded into our thought patterns, our fears will fade into the distance and our emotions will settle to a place of peace.

God sees us. He understands what we are going through. He is there with us in the celebrations and the failures . And He loves us. Oh, how He loves us!  Take the timid heart and place your confidence in our mighty God anytime that faith begins to diminish or shake. Run right back to the mighty fortress that is guaranteed to take you in and keep you safe.

Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.  Psalms 119:105 NET

This is our call! I feel it. You feel it. The Lord’s call to carry the light of Jesus Christ, pouring it out into the murky world around us. God made us this way.  To embrace the will of God and the teachings of Jesus that call us from slumber to action. When He created each individual, He knew we would have to be strong as our moral values as they are being threatened subtly and violently, decade after decade.

Our role is to serve and protect the kingdom, our relationships, and the quality of life of our families, friends, churches and communities. We will not be complete until we understand and experience the purpose that comes from fulfilling the role that God intended for us. It is ok to have uncertainties about the lantern we are to carry.  Ask God for the power and courage to fulfill His plans. Please do not settle! The Lord intends for us to protect and serve what He has given us to protect and serve, our families will thank us, His churches will be grateful, and the community we live in will see the light that God intended to shine!

Psalms 121:5-8 NET The LORD is your protector; the LORD is the shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, or the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life. The LORD will protect you in all you do, now and forevermore.

We can have confidence that our God is just, that He is present whether or not we recognize it, He wants to respond on our behalf. We can have confidence that we serve our Heavenly Father who is grace and perfect and longs to give good gifts to His children.

I know circumstances are unfair at times, but be assured that God will not let sin or injustice have a foothold. We might not see how He acts on our behalf but know that He will. It’s in His character to be just and stand for righteousness.  He is our protector, our rescuer.  There’s a battle, and it’s for our hearts, our lives, our families and our values. This battle IS for everything and the devil plays for keeps.  Our focus is being diverted and we are sleeping on the job, so to speak.  Turn to Jesus.

Perhaps there will be times He seems far off but we must take heart.  There is purpose in everything God does. No experience, emotion, or trial goes wasted. He is working good on our behalf.

When we do feel alone, however, carry the promise that God is with us, before us and behind us. A “shade at our right hand” and He is working, even if we can’t see Him.
