Suddenly a violent storm developed, with waves so high the boat was about to be swamped. Yet Jesus continued to sleep soundly. The disciples woke Him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We’re going to die!” But Jesus reprimanded them. “Why are you gripped with fear? Where is your faith?” Then He stood and rebuked the storm, saying, “Be still!” And instantly it became perfectly calm.  Matthew 8:24-26 TPT

Thoughts and feelings will come like waves on the sea and seek to capsize us. When these thoughts and feelings flood our hearts and minds like water into a boat, we are barely able to keep our eyes on Jesus.

On our own strength we will be afraid to face a new day troubled with thoughts and feelings like a strange sense that the there is an sea monster, circling around and waiting for a moment to emerge from the depths and ruin our day. Or we struggle with the idea that even having anxious feelings or thoughts means that we are failing or that we are a failure

But seriously, take heart!

Jesus teaches that we will have trouble in this world. Each day will have trouble enough of its own. Not only will the world bring us trouble, but we have trouble residing within because even when we believe Jesus Christ and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior, our sinful nature remains - So we don't have to go far to find trouble. Trouble is within and without.

I know by experience that this is enough to make anyone anxious! Is there any hope?!

YES! Yes! If you are in Christ, He is in you and you are in Him. Because He lives inside of you, there can be calm within.

That is the truth, The truth of God and His Word is not only our ANCHOR in the storm. In Christ we can actually BE THE CALM in the storm.
