For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 ESV
Growing up, I struggled with a spirit of rejection, I felt like I was either not enough for some people or too much for the rest.
Everything changed, however, when I received the revelation that I was created in the image of God, and that He equipped me for the purpose He assigned for me.
The same is true for you. Not everyone will agree with you, understand you, or approve of you. But as you receive and accept your identity in Christ and do what God has called you to do, He’s going to be with you through the lifetime ahead.
In Him, you are always enough.
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29 NKJV
One of the hardest struggles you will encounter in life is finding the strength and courage to do what God is calling you to do.
You can’t expect everyone to understand your call. As much as we would love the approval, acceptance, and support of those we love, we may not always get it. Nevertheless, we must continue to be obedient.
I am ever grateful to Holy Spirit for keeping me committed and obedient to what God told me. It is not always easy. If there’s something God has asked you to do, if there’s something He’s put on your heart in response to a need or request in your life, I want to encourage you to follow through. Eternity with God is the destination of those who diligently seek Him!
Galatians 5:1 NIV It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
The only way we’re going to not just survive but thrive is to continuously fill ourselves with Jesus. We can’t stay stagnant. We can’t allow ourselves to be okay with getting stuck. We can’t afford to let our comfort and security override possessing the promises of God.
The goal of Christianity isn’t comfort or security but freedom. With Jesus. And freedom is often found in the most uncomfortable places because it’s there we let go and let God do what He needs to do in and through us.
Jesus didn’t come from Heaven to earth, die on a cross, and rise again to make us comfortable or secure. He came to make us dangerous to the kingdom of darkness so that we can go in and possess the promises He has for us!
I believe that word is for you today. Don’t listen to the opinions of others over God’s voice or what the enemy is whispering in your mind. Focus on the victory God has already promised to you. If it looks impossible, remember it’s in those places God starts.
Seeing as God sees doesn’t mean we automatically know everything; it means we trust and have confidence in the One who does.
