I leave the gift of peace with you—My peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but My perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous! John 14:27 TPT

Today, right here and now, Jesus is speaking these words over whatever we are facing. The word peace in the world means to be without problems, conflict or stress.

However, the peace that Jesus offers is something that the world cannot give or take away.  The peace Jesus offers defies circumstances, it is beyond our human logic..... how is that even possible? how can we have peace amidst a world full of chaos? but we can have it: because Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.

He can speak one word and calm the winds and waves — and He can do the same thing with your heart full of fear, anxiety, and depression.

When we are focused on Jesus, our minds will be fixed on His peace because it is found in trusting the One who controls all the things.

The more we  meditate on:

His Great Power.

His Eternal Glory.

His Infinite Wisdom.

His Unwavering Faithfulness.

His Perfect Righteousness.

His Immense Patience and His heart of love for us, we will always remain in perfect peace.

So I challenge us each to find peace in the midst of this upcoming week . Ask Jesus to provide a type of a peace that people would be confused by. That’s the kind of crazy peace and love YOU are called to today.

Matthew 14:25-32 TPT Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! When the disciples saw Him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!” Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!” Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join You on the water!” “Come and join Me,” Jesus replied. So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus. But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out. Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?” And the very moment they both stepped into the boat, the raging wind ceased.

The peace provided by Jesus.

My friends, everyone wants it. It’s the precious gift of peace amidst the storms of life. Apostle Peter stepped out of the boat right during the middle of a treacherous storm, and began walking toward Jesus on top of the water. As long as he focused on Jesus, he was at peace and oblivious to the stormy waves that were crashing around him. As soon as he took his eyes off of Jesus and focused on what was going on around him, he became fearful and he ended up getting swallowed up by the waves.

Our circumstances may not change, but our attitude can and that is enough to find His peace.

We all have to let fear disintegrate and take a giant leap of faith to step out of that boat and Christ calls us to take His hand as we step forth. We are called to go beyond our comfort zone to reach the peace and comfort that Christ offers.

Honestly, the world cannot give us Christ’s peace, but it can’t take it away from us either.  Right now, in this moment we can surrender our peace in Christ by shifting our focus from Jesus and allowing our deepest fears and anxieties become more powerful than our faith.

OR we can rise up and stand on the waves of chaos and move toward the only person who can keep us afloat, the choice is Ours.

We can find the confidence in God’s presence, so that we walk alongside Holy Spirit with courage.... let go of all the futile things which holds you back and step out in God’s power to joyfully receive the peace that Jesus offers.  Trust Him.

Exodus 14:14 NIV The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Pray with Holy Spirit, sing to Jesus. Read God’s Bible!  He is with us in the middle of the mess. We don’t have to fight for what is free. Jesus already won the war — true joy and peace are available in His presence. Peace is a gift from God. Totally free. No clearance tag or discounted goody bags. His peace is only achieved when we are wholeheartedly seeking Him. Knowing and declaring Jesus Christ as our risen Saviour.

Psalms 34:14 TPT  Keep turning your back on every sin, and make “peace” your life motto. Practice being at peace with everyone.

The bottom line is, peace isn’t a feeling, although it will affect our feelings.

Peace comes when we take heart, and we align ourselves with the heart of Jesus Christ, remember, the world can’t give you peace, and the world can’t take it away.

I’m praying for you, that these truths flood your heart with peace that surpasses all understanding — like they do mine. Peace that gives you permission to live like you are loved.  Because you are.

John 14:27 TPT I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!

Wow isn’t that awe inspiring! Because my friends, you are loved more than you could ever know. And God wants to hold us close! Holy Spirit looks forward to sitting with us. Having a conversation in prayer. Praying is abandoning a life of demands and complaints, recognizing the gift of undeserved relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

And you may not know this right now but, our hearts are calling out, no, crying out — longing for something.

The presence of our mighty yet gracious God Heavenly Father.

Psalm 16:11 states this, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness and joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

When we recognize that we are in the presence of God we are given a new purpose, and we are propelled into the joy of the Lord!

Then this joy brings us peace that surpasses all understanding and it allows us to rely on the Lord of all in our weakest moments, knowing that He will provide all that we need.

Wow! Amazing grace!! Whether your greatest need this week is strength or peace – or maybe you’re desperate for both – whoa  my friend, our God has us covered.
