As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One, and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king – I say this about the LORD, my shelter and my stronghold, my God in whom I trust – He will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the destructive plague. Psalms 91:1-3 NET
Praise God. Our Saviour is not calloused like the world is fast becoming. He is always tender with His beloved, and our place of true and perpetual rest is soft. He is mighty in protection and yet He provides us personally with the most sublime comfort and nurture available in the universe. ‘He covers you with His feathers, and under His wings, you take refuge.’
Open your Bible and as you read, see yourself in His presence. Feel the warmth of His endless personal comfort. It is a comfort that need not be traded whilst fulfilling purpose or even as the world might give way to fear and terror. It is a comfort that is sustained even when all around us is harsh and dangerous. We are loved and protected by Jesus.
Consider all God has done for you. Now consider everything you have (which is nothing in comparison to all He has to give). Add up everything you own. Survey your “holdings.” Look to see what is there. Evaluate your potential. Whatever it may be. Think about what you could do with it all. Then surrender your ways to Him,
Then lay it all down before the Lord. Give it all over to Him. Trust Him with your finances. Trust Him with your situation. Trust Him with your life.
Let Him do what only He can do with all of these things. And follow Jesus Christ, the risen Saviour, with absolute abandon. By His grace.
