This was how Jesus, God’s Anointed One, was born. His mother, Mary, had promised Joseph to be his wife, but while she was still a virgin she became pregnant through the power of Holy Spirit. Her fiancé, Joseph, was a righteous man full of integrity and he didn’t want to disgrace her, but when he learned of her pregnancy he secretly planned to break the engagement. While he was still debating with himself about what to do, he fell asleep and had a supernatural dream. An angel from the Lord appeared to him in clear light and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, don’t hesitate to take Mary into your home as your wife, because the power of Holy Spirit has conceived a child in her womb. She will give birth to a son and you are to name Him ‘Savior,’ for He is destined to give His life to save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:18-21 TPT

The Angel Gabriel foretells the Birth of Jesus, telling Mary that she would conceive a son by the power of Holy Spirit. She would give birth to this child and name him Jesus.  Humbled and in awe, Mary believed the angel of the Lord and rejoiced in God her Saviour.

And every day since, generation after generation, God loves us, affectionately caring for us and watching over us, and He invites us, like He invited Mary, to toss every worry—actually throwing them hard and strong—straight into His hands. With Trust. Faith. Hope. ...hope depending on Jesus because He alone is able to give “living hope” through His birth, His death and resurrection to all who trust in Him. In other words, the hope that Jesus gives is “living” because He Himself is alive and offers eternal life with Him.

When we put our hope, our lives, in Him, we will not be disappointed, and we will live with Him forever.... salvation, hallelujah!!
