Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him.   Psalms 62:1 NIV

I know we are tired, or getting to that point. There has been an extreme summer heat wave this week, our cozy little house, no air conditioning, has been around 25 degrees every night.

Then there is the constant social tension of running errands while not talking to people, nor holding doors open for others, standing silently in store and bank line ups while trying to maintain carefully measured space apart, of avoiding daily fear based news, it is all a bit wearisome.

Then I turn to Jesus. And He is smiling. And I know He is smiling at each and every one of us. And I know where our strength comes from. The Lord our God.

As you’re reading His Word, ask God to give you ears to hear His Voice. During your worship time, ask God to give you a heart to receive His Word. Let God open your heart to receive more of Him. Ask God to lead your ears as you read and study His Word. Choose to let the past go. Let God wash your heart. Let His Word make you new.

When you receive His Word, He will direct your path. God will order your steps and lead your life. Choose to bow to His Word. Let His Word lead you and comfort you in times of distress. Let His Word regulate you in times of trouble.

Choose to surrender to His Will. He is our source of rest, rejuvenation. Again, read the Bible. Start at page one and read. Let God lead the way.
