Now, our God, we give thanks to You and praise Your majestic name!  1 Chronicles 29:13 NET

When we gather together, where God’s Word will be read and preached, and prayers will be lifted up, we will join a chorus of others who herald the good news by singing psalms, hymns, and songs of worship to the Lord most high.

Praise is about God, not us. Everything we do should direct our thoughts upward to our reigning Savior. And while worship is fundamentally about God, we cannot help but by His grace come to a better understanding of ourselves as we come to know Him.

As we sing of His holiness, justice, goodness, and truth, and meditate on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, let us remember to examine our own hearts. Are our sins being addressed? What must we grab hold of by faith? My friends, I pray we are receptive to the convicting work of Holy Spirit and the ministry of the Bible.

Do you know that God expects us, each of us, to minister to those around us in ways that extend beyond the time frame of Sunday worship? When we praise Christ together, we grow in our affection for His people, our people.
