God Listens

Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a violent wind blowing came from heaven and filled the entire house where they were sitting. And tongues spreading out like a fire appeared to them and came to rest on each one of them. All of them were filled with Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as Spirit enabled them.  Acts 2:1-4 NET

God might start by having Holy Spirit whisper parts of His plan to several people. They might not even know each other or attend the same church, or be in the same social circle but they’re each listening to Holy Spirit and doing what He says.

In fact, open the Bible, and read the book of Acts, again if you already have. It is is full of crazy stories about how Holy Spirit put the right people together at the right time to make something special happen. Honestly, with Holy Spirit living inside each of us, the possibilities are as limitless as God Himself. Our only job is to listen to that quiet voice of the Lord in our head and do our best to obey.

And while I don’t think we will ever really lose the wonder of conversations with God, when we learn how God speaks, it will start to feel more natural.
