But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, *said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid any longer, only believe.” And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James. They *came to the house of the synagogue official; and He *saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing. And entering in, Jesus *said to them, “Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep.” They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He *took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and *entered the room where the child was. Taking the child by the hand, Jesus spoke “Little girl, I say to you, get up! Immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded.  Mark 5:36-42 NASB

There are things that happen to us in life that we take credit for when they’re good, and if they’re not good, we blame ourselves, others, or the enemy or it’s minions. Even though the hand of God is at work in our lives, we do not see it, or may even doubt it - But God is ever present with us even when He seems to be most conspicuously absent.

Maybe we need to learn what it means to surrender to God’s will, even when it’s hard. Really hard. It’s what gives us the opportunity to be more like Jesus, who embraced the change from being infinite as God to finite as man by having a humble countenance, even though He is God, imagine the love Jesus pours forth.

Instead of asking the Lord to breath life in and through our circumstances, let us prayerfully ask for the Lord to change us and then accept the refining. Trust that God's kingdom is greater than anything we can fathom. Never fall into the trap of thinking that God is asleep or that He is sitting in heaven wringing His hands when He is looking at the problems we are going through or when He looks at the chaos in the world right now.  What catches us by surprise never has the same effect on God, as He knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
