Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.  Isaiah 7:14 NASB

From a virgin birth in a village called Bethlehem, to the stable that served as a crib to a King, to the exact cost of His betrayal, the exact number of men who would die beside Him, the exact controversy surrounding the disappearance of His body, to the exact naming of the accusing group.

This is Advent, that the Christ who came long ago, comes to you now in His words and promises, and will come again. He will come as the judge of all people but as Saviour and deliverer to those who look to Him, truly trusting and depending on God in all the experiences of life.  Advent is to be celebrated as the children of our Heavenly Father eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus.

The prophets of old not only foretell the events but perfectly harmonize with the New Testament writers as they unfold the implications of the events. The harmony is only possible because, like a puzzle, God flawlessly joins each piece, revealing Himself to humanity. There is no place in the past that God was not. There is no place today where He is not. God almighty is all that is, all that was, and all that will be.
