And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written, “He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:8-15 NASB
It’s a humbling realization when we surrender our tumbling thoughts, zig zagging emotions and need for control to Jesus we will be wrapped in true freedom that only God can supply ! His Amazing grace!
So how do we go from feeling shattered in a parking lot to sitting at the table with Jesus? How do we become so filled with Holy Spirit that we become vessels that pour His light over others? Ask God! Turn your face up to Him and ask:
“Teach me how….
How to read Bible
How to pray
how to break free from addiction
How to forgive
How to have the joy of the Lord
How to have peace that is unshakeable
He will answer … good to note from my personal experience that when asking for peace sometimes a very “unpeaceful” thing comes along to grow our roots deeper and our grasp on Gods outstretched hand tighter!
Thank You Lord of all that We don’t have to know the answer to “how” when we know Who!!! Because Jesus.
Don’t let the things of this world stop you from walking alongside Jesus or sowing for His kingdom either, a farmer doesn’t know how the seeds are going to push through the soil but he plants them.
Isaiah 28:23-26 NASB “Give ear and hear my voice, Listen and hear my words. Does the farmer plow continually to plant seed? Does he continually turn and harrow the ground? Does he not level its surface And sow dill and scatter cumin and plant wheat in rows, Barley in its place and rye within its area? For his God instructs and teaches him properly.”
God does not need us but He does use for His glory our will, our surrender, our trust. You might be in a situation right now where you don’t know what to do, but you can pray, you can praise God, you can read the Bible, read the living word of God and ask Him to keep taking your wayward thoughts captive in the name of Jesus!
2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Maybe your joining us here after one of those days where you feel like you had it together in the morning and by afternoon, you feel a world apart from anything making sense and you have wrestled with finding true peace in a world of chaos —
May we be comforted knowing Jesus is the prince of peace, knowing that God is working even when we don’t understand what’s going on. In a world that has normalized “me time” and “me first” and “just be you” seeking our self first all too often leads to a hollowness we can’t explain but my friends the unconditional love that God has for each one of us let’s us stand with His assurance - we are loved we are forgiven we are never alone even in an empty parking lot!
Every person is created in the image of God, and Jesus invites each and every one of us to follow Him. God has placed a myriad of people on our path so that we will do everything that we can to be part of their salvation story. Whether it is a lifelong friendship or a 15 minute chat with fellow coffee drinker waiting in a lineup. Following Jesus means that we must be willing to share Jesus with other people, be willing to speak about repentance, redemption, rescue! Wherever we go, we pray for their lives, that they may receive Holy Spirit, that they will surrender to God our Heavenly Father, and follow Jesus the Christ, the way, the truth, the life, the Saviour! Hallelujah !
2 Corinthians 4:1-9 NASB “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;”
It is our job to step boldly for God, absolutely relying on His direction, sitting with Holy Spirit in intercessory prayer because, we GET to live with complete dependence on Jesus Christ. We get to express that dependence in prayer, in faith for resources and God’s provision, in faith for discernment and decisions, in trusting our very life (health and security while here) and our eternity to Jesus.
