Awake Sleeper

For you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:8-14 NASB

No doubt life is difficult these days -  to dance with joy while the news headlines and life itself pummel us with uncertainty and upheaval isn't always a first response, that is why we must praise God every moment! Actually we get to praise God for all He is all He was and all He will be, hallelujah! 

Thank You Jesus, for coming to tear down every obstacle and unite us with You as one people under one accord with one heart and one mission! That is each of us, God’s created, our neighbour who is in a different income bracket, folks attending a different church across town, our coworkers who do things differently, our family members whose lifestyles we don’t agree with . . . they’re not so different from any of us. We are born, we live a life, we pass on. Every generation before us, all of humanity alive today, those yet to come tomorrow, all are the people Jesus Christ came for, died for, and calls home to Him. 

They’re not our enemies! We are not their enemy. Let’s erase the fear lines the enemy draws in the sand, reach across the fence with an outstretched hand, and share the good news of Jesus, because He commands it! Not only that but fear is erased - conquered when we accept the hand of Jesus He so freely offers - and then Pray for people, better yet pray with people, sing to God, read the Bible out loud, wow that’s awe inspiring, I’d much rather stand without the weight of muddy dark fear and look at Jesus, ears listening to His voice, eyes reading His Bible.

Colossians 3:12-14 NASB So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

Jesus prayed, that all believers might be as one body under one head, animated by one soul, by union with Christ and God in Him, through Holy Spirit dwelling in them.

Did you catch that? By the power and presence of Holy Spirit in us, we can have harmony with God and one another. Our common faith in Christ unites us as family, and Holy Spirit in us unites us as one body under the headship of king Jesus.  

Thus, we can work FEARLESS together for the good of mankind, we can put aside the need for getting things done our way-  we can be an undivided community, God’s church! God’s army, on His mission!
