Behold, days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch of David sprout; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety; and this is the name by which it will be called: the Lord is our righteousness.’ Jeremiah 33:14-16 NASB
the Advent of Christ reveals the fullness of the grace, mercy and love of God. We get to learn from reading the Gospels that Jesus loves us, each a sinner. He loves without compromising His holiness. He also commands we repent, then “go and sin no more”.
God loves you and takes delight in you. The Bible encourages every believer to seek God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Scriptures teach how to step out and live a life pleasing to God through faith. I believe most of us get in our own way and let fear and doubt determine our actions. That is contrary to the truth of what the Bible teaches. The devil has diminished our sight because once you experience the wild adventures that happen with faith in Jesus, then you believe that anything is possible with God!
John 16:32-33 NASB Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
While it was necessary for Jesus to be born as a man and die as a man, the story doesn’t end there. Jesus conquers all, sin, death, the enemy…. He is reigning over His people as the Warrior King.
Celebrating advent, Christmas, is a time of celebrating the first coming of Jesus, the arrival of Jesus Christ and the anticipation of His return. Jesus is coming soon. It could be in 2 hours or twenty years. We will not know thus we are to accept Him and live every moment as if He was here now. The precious baby in a manger. King Jesus whom we all long to meet. Jesus Christ who has defeated death. The prince of peace, the only One who will fulfill the longing in our hearts. The One we should all turn to and follow.
Today is the day to let more of His goodness flood your soul. Set your sights on Him once more. Don’t turn away from Jesus Christ, but come closer to hear His truth. our call should be: Come, Lord Jesus come!
