Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain. And He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with Him. So Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You want, I will make three shelters – one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Over the next weeks and months, let’s draw near to God through prayer. Let’s spend time in His presence, because He alone is able to prepare us for new seasons, fresh starts, and ultimately eternity at His side, salvation offered to each and every person, and while we cannot earn salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
All we have to do is understand and admit we sinners, that Christ died for our sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from those sins—that’s called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty with Him.
If you are ready, please invite Holy Spirit to join you and pray the following prayer to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior:
"God, I know that I am a sinner, I come before You and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that You raised Him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do Your will. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
By cultivating honest conversations with God, teustfully holding Jesus Christ's hand, we create space for Holy Spirit to refresh our souls and speak to us. I know we all experience celebrations and great moments but we also go through losses, times when life gets overwhelming and problems keep mounting, and then it’s easy to start doubting if we can be the people God created us to be.
But when this happens, one of the best things we can do is intentionally slow down and seek God’s heart, again read the Bible! Praise God! Pray pray pray! And trust each of your moments to God’s merciful hands.
