Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 NET
When confronted with anything, doubt, ideas, decisions, choices, fear we must go to Jesus, seeking to hear the truth He speaks authoritatively over our lives, letting His truth disarm the lies that we have taken into our heart. Then, we need to be brave and walk in faith, to take action, actually demonstrating that we believe God’s truth over the lies of the enemy.
Can you see it? We get to know Jesus Christ personally, He came for each and every one of us! He acknowledges the importance of our heart and empathises with what it means to be human. He understands what it means to experience uncertainty, temptation, insecurity, fear and anxiety.
So, when He says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in Me”, He is showing us where to find peace for our weary heart and inviting us into a place of rest under His sovereign authority.
John 6:33-35 NET For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” So they said to Him, “Sir, give us this bread all the time!” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to Me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty.
Jesus, You are our river of life. Thank You for planting us in Your presence and filling us with joy and fruit for Your glory! Amen!
Loving Jesus is more than an emotion; it is a life lived according to God’s ways, we get to praise Him singing worship and we get to praise Him by listening quietly to Holy Spirit- we get to praise God by trusting Him with our innermost prayers, we praise Him by reading the Bible. Inviting Holy Spirit into our very life, all of these actions are the daily choices we make about our thoughts, our relationships, and our character which indicate whether we trust God, love Jesus, rely on Holy Spirit.
We get to choose to overcome evil or we can choose to succumb to it. We get to choose to get into God’s word and become connected with God Himself.
Its certainly tempting to question God and demand answers when things don’t go as we in the flesh had planned or when the unexpected happens. Jesus has compassion for us in those moments. But while we can wrestle with things that are hard to understand, there comes a time when we must implicitly trust God even when we don’t like or agree with the whys and hows of our life. Jesus is the Who the Why the How.
Matthew 4:1-4 TPT Afterward, Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to experience the ordeal of testing by the accuser. And after fasting for forty days, Jesus was extremely hungry. Then the tempter came to Him and said, “How can you possibly be the Son of God and go hungry? Just command these stones to be turned into loaves of bread.” He answered, “The Scriptures say: Bread alone will not satisfy, but true life is found in every word that constantly goes forth from God’s mouth.”
That’s why it matters who and what we worship because that is who or what we will serve - be it our wealth, our career, our family or our ministry even.
Make the effort everyday- throughout the day, to keep your thoughts on Jesus, pray, talk with Him, worship, sing to Him, because anything that takes the place of God in our life is an idol and inevitably an idol leads us away from God.
Only Jesus - King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
His authority was not given by man but by God Himself and His kingdom was not of this world. When Jesus came, He walked the earth He taught, healed and delivered people with the power and authority of God Himself.
When people met Jesus they acknowledged the power and authority that Jesus had and believed in Him- like a floodgate opened and pouring His life into and over their lives.
His power and authority are not brash and demeaning of others but rather it is understanding our position in Christ.
It’s knowing that we are co-heirs with Christ. His surrender to God, His forgiving others of wrongs done to Him, It’s believing that we can do what Jesus did for others if we abide in Him….. If we accept and receive Jesus Christ as our risen Saviour…... If we acknowledge that Jesus was crucified and conquering death He rose again.
Because we can never partake of His promises, power and authority if we don’t submit completely to the Lordship of Christ in our life.
