Come To Find Life

But now for a brief moment grace has been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us an escaped remnant and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.  Ezra 9:8 NASB

Ezra is speaking not only of the restoration of the temple leadership BUT of restoring the spiritual passion of and in God's people.

This is an extraordinary image of how God can release, repair, revive and rebuild our lives. Even in the midst of the darkest circumstances, even in the midst of bondage, when things are dead and dying, He can breathe life into dry bones. 

Ezekiel 37:4-5 NIV Then He said to me, Prophesy to these bones and say to them, Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.

No matter what is going on in your world right now, picture the setting when Ezra declares these beautiful words of grace to God's people and allow them to speak life into you today.

The other day I asked God if we are to stay here, not uproot the roots He has already started planting here. Us, His root. 

The world is so full of people who need shelter, food, healing, God. 

I thought to myself yes! Revival! We should go there! Or there or there. Somewhere to help in God’s name. Help somehow someway. 

And at that moment of me (as usual) getting enthusiastically ahead of myself.....

God spoke. No My child. This is where I need you. Here. It may not be forever but it is for now. 

Rooted where planted. 

There are so many here, in our homes, our families, our community needing Jesus.  

Now. At the very risk of peril. Of eternity in torment. 

Let me make a bold statement to you today. Think about things this way. Did you ever stop to contemplate that you may be exactly where God needs you to be right now? You may not like it very much, but maybe-just maybe-God wants you there so that you can accomplish His purposes in that place.God could have placed you in this strategic situation, this town, in order to reach a fellow sinner with His love and grace through your conversation, your presence, and even your prayers.

I really just wanted to share this piece of our weekend as an encouragement to all of us to persevere under any circumstance. 

God's Revival starts anywhere anytime. 

Right here right now.
